It is crazy, all of the tools that are out there that we don't even know about. As a designer I constantly have to be looking our for all the new innovative design tools. Staying on top of new technology is difficult, but it is so interesting to see what people have come up with. I saw this on twitter the other day: a 3D pen!! Oh the things we could create with this.
The 3D Doodler heats and then cools plastic as it comes out of the pen. There is no computer software needed. It resembles what a 3D printer could create, but in a much quicker speed. It looks a lot like a glue gun. This could be great for art projects, creating jewelry, or making prototypes!

This is pretty cool! Although I'm not a designer, I kind of want one of these. Unfortunately, this pen would probably be super expensive for quite awhile seeing as it is a new idea all together.
ReplyDeleteThis product reminded me of this other innovative pen I saw a while back. It's called the Color Picker Pen. Basically, you can scan anything in real life, like an apple, and then you can draw/color with that exact color. It's still a concept item as far as I know, so it isn't on the market yet, but I feel it would be really popular, especially with designers and artists, if it really works!

That is really cool! I've seen 3D printers, but not actual pens before. The printers you have to wait for renders and print time, now its real-time, which is crazy! No more waiting! It is going to be extremely popular once more people know about it, I wonder what the price is going to be like.
